STATEMENT OF WORK

Working from images of moody landscapes and lonely structures that I have photographed, I print paper lithographs to which I add various mediums to create the atmosphere that I feel best expresses my concerns regarding the multitude of problems that we are currently facing. Influenced by the 2006 Cormac McCarthy book, The Road, as well as by the gritty truths of Anselm Kiefer’s paintings and the melancholy of Munch, my intention was to produce work that suggests an emotional reaction to the political, social and environmental problems we must now face.
